You’ll explore composition and design ideas with lenses from ultra-wide to telephoto. Bring your favorite lenses and be ready to try new ideas.
Be sure to dress appropriately for the weather and wear shoes suitable for active and off-street walking.
Recommended for: Adults, children 10-11 and up (under 18 must be accompanied by an adult).
While not ideal for young children, these Photo Walks offer an ideal opportunity to enjoy the day with your photography-loving teens and pre-teens.
All half-day Photo Walks are just $99 per person.
As Premier Photo Tours continues into its third year, we wish to extend our tremendous thanks to every one of you who joined us for some photography fun and education. Remember, the learning and practice never stops!
The coming year will see even more new Photo Walks, Workshops and Classes, and of course the Travel Workshop Guatemala.
We’ve posted some tentative dates for late March, April and May on the calendar. Please note: there are three weeks listed as possible Cherry Blossom Walks, all TBA. There isn’t enough information available yet to pin down the best days and times for this coming year’s blooms, and we’ll tighten that up as we get closer. After the crazy early season in 2012 we’re reminded that anything can happen!
The Photo Walk schedule is quiet in January and February as everyone hunkers in for the winter. Stu goes to Guatemala in late February to work on a project with Fotokids, followed in early March with the Magic of the Maya Workshop. Contact us directly for more information on the wokshop, by phone at 301 340-2259 or by email at firstname.lastname@example.org.

Here are just some of the walks to look forward to in the coming year:
Art & Architecture on the Mall
Experience the varied architectural styles, from classical to post-modern, and the sculptures in the National Gallery and Hirshorn Sculpture Garden.
National Mall & Monuments Walk
The must-see and must photograph highlight of everyone’s visit to our nation’s capital, and the “it’s always there I’ll get around to it” destination of those of us who live here. Well, it’s time to get around to it! Sunset and sunrise seem to be the favorite time for this walk, so we’ve given you what you’ve asked for! Note that times for the sunset and sunrise walks are timed to, well, suset and sunrise on those days, and do change with the seasons.
Another favorite for visitors and locals alike! The most popular walk on our schedule – check the calendar for dates and times.
Old Town Alexandria
Everything from scenic waterfront views and historic architecture to the bustle of the oldest continuous Farmers Market in the US make this one of the perennial favorites!
Early and late season Walks begin with the magic dawn and sunrise light. During the mid-season when the sun rises befor most of us we’ll begin a bit later in the morning.
National Harbor on the Potomac
There’s plenty to photograph indoors and out in this new Washington, DC area icon. Finish the walk with the sun setting over the Potomac River!
This Walk continues to be a favorite, so book early to reserve your spot!
C&O Canal & Great Falls
A great location for nature and history all in one spot. An interesting and ever-changing scene for great photos, the area blazes into color in the late autumn! Any time is a great time for this Walk.
Baltimore Inner Harbor
This location is such a prime spot for photo opportunities, you may feel you’re on visual overload! Great at any time of day, and a special location for twilight shooting with the Baltimore skyline in the background.
