I wanted to send a quick note thanking you for leading the photography class in Gaithersburg. Both my teenage kids and I had a great experience and actually learned more about our camera settings than we thought was possible in the Cannon power shots we have. It was great when the gaggle of geese came by by during the class and we were able to get the best shots and quickly adjust the cameras for multiple and different kinds of shots. Looking forward to the snow class!
I really enjoyed your photo tour. I have taken a few photography classes a long time ago, however it was great to learn about the various digital settings. Your friendly teaching style made learning how to take better photos FUN! Please keep me posted on future tours.
I found Stu to be a very knowledgeable photographer with an outstanding body of work. He has an easygoing style that invites questions. His teaching technique is very compatible with beginners as well as advanced students. Taking Stu’s class was a very good investment!
I came in not knowing much about how to take pictures in low light and left with some photos I was pretty proud of. :) My questions were answered well and I felt very comfortable with the group - even the other group members were helpful in answering questions, too. Had a great time. :)
Enjoyable and informative. The tour guide was very knowledgeable, helpful, informative and friendly. The location was great and I was able to obtain many good photos.
Everything about the walk was fabulous. Autumn was still showing its colors. The sky was blue. The water and foliage combo made for some great shots.
I wasn't sure what to expect, but the tour was great!! We were allowed freedom to take whatever photos we chose, while having the guidance and expert at our fingertips. Much better than sitting in a classroom. Will definitely do another tour again.
Everyone (both the teachers and fellow classmates) was super friendly. It was nice that everyone was of varying abilities, because we were also able to help one another. We had a lot of freedom to try what we wanted. I would recommend that people come ready to ask questions to get the most out of the experience. It was a nice night out around DC, as we learned more about photography and how to get the most out of our cameras.
I enjoyed the photo walk very much. I think that you gave a lot of great information at the beginning of the walk, and that enabled me to try some different things with my camera. I did experiment a lot with my camera, at your suggestion, which is something I don't usually do, so I learned a lot about my camera. All in all, a very worthwhile experience, and one I would do again. I enjoyed sharing the experience with my granddaughter, as she is just beginning to get interested in photography and I would like to encourage her as much as possible.
The Mall & Monuments Walk with Stu changed the way I take pictures. As a newbie to SLR cameras, I can't think of a better way to learn how effectively use my camera. Stu is an excellent teacher as he doesn't overwhelm you with information, but rather goes along with you on the journey giving you the tips, hints & expertise needed when you are ready for the next step. I'll be back. Not only did I learn a lot - but Stu also fostered a fun group that made the entire experience, from meeting others to seeing my work on the computer that night... an absolutely amazing experience.
